Randy Church, lay leader, describes Roselle UMC:
Throughout my life I have been part of many different Methodist
churches. I have found that churches tend to fall into one of
two categories. Either they are inwardly focused, where
the church is primarily focused on meeting the needs of its
membership; or outwardly focused, a service driven church
focused on reaching out and meeting the needs of those in their
community.
Over the past year, Roselle UMC has clearly defined itself as a
service driven church. Our membership is clearly focused on
reaching out and helping those in need throughout the
communities we serve. Opportunities to become involved in
Christian service to others are abundant within the walls of
Roselle UMC.
I
believe that God's spirit touches everything that happens within
our church. His spirit is alive and well in the generosity and
concern members of the Roselle UMC have shown through the
numerous outreach programs that are offered. It is his spirit
that has guided us to become service focused in so many
different ways.
I
started coming to this church because . . .
"My wife was a member and as I attended I was drawn more to the
people of this church and what this church represented."
"We had moved to this area and were looking for a church home
for ourselves and our three little boys. I knew we were in our
new church home because of the people present. I knew this was a
place where I could find fellowship, be challenged to grow
spiritually and be nurtured throughout my journey of life and
faith. Praise God for all the people of Roselle United Methodist
Church This is my church home."
"I
grew up in this church and after being gone for several years,
being unwed with a child this church and its members welcomed me
back with open arms and non-judgmental hearts. Many of its
members had been here since my childhood, some remembered me.
This is a very giving congregation with a lot of love. Now this
church is my home and these people are my family."
"of
its welcoming atmosphere and preaching the Word of God."
My
prayer for our church is . . .
"that
this church continues to be so wonderfully friendly. When I come
to this church I am coming home."
"Grace.
. . this congregation is filled with it. As anyone who has ever
served with me on a committee, taught Sunday school with me,
gone on mission trips with me or just greeted me at the
sanctuary door on Sunday mornings can tell, I am always late!
They all forgive me."
The greatest gift this church has given me . . .
"Acceptance, Encouragement, Hope, Peace"
"That we are all ministers together as members of Christ’s body,
and, that all people are loved by God."
"Is
the fellowship of the entire congregation."
"My
church family and the love and loyalty they have shown me; in
good times and bad."
