Church and Society
Purpose
The Church and Society
program helps to create a link between our church and the rest
of the world. We realize that our actions affect people and cultures
that we don’t often come in contact with and recognize that what they do
affects us. We acknowledge that God’s creation extends beyond the
boundaries of our church and want to educate ourselves about pressing
social issues in our community, country, and world.
One of the ways we
address these issues is through quarterly potluck dinners featuring
knowledgeable speakers who present their ideas and discuss them with us. This is a non-partisan effort. We recognize that our views will
sometimes differ, but believe we can disagree constructively and provide
a forum for the thoughtful exchange of ideas among people of goodwill.
Feedback
"I
want to thank you and your forum committee for offering the
program on immigration. My husband and I recently
moved to Roselle from Oak Park and were thrilled to see you
all addressing a number of vital issues at your forum.
We’re certainly looking forward to the next one.
Again, thank you and please tell the committee how much we
appreciate their work!"
